Apply via GoBusiness Licensing to change your hotel's name. Prior written approval from the Hotels Licensing Board is required before any name change takes effect.

Application for a Change of Hotel Name

For any change to the Hotel Name, please apply for a Change of Hotel Name via GoBusiness Licensing. Please note that the hotel shall not change the name of the hotel without prior written approval of the Board.

Change of Hotel Name Fees

(i) Hotel with 100 rooms and less - $250
(ii) Hotel with 101-299 rooms - $600
(iii) Hotel with 300-499 rooms - $1,100
(iv) Hotel with 500 or more rooms - $1,450

Submission of Application

  1. Application for a Change of Hotel Name is to be submitted online via GoBusiness Licensing.

  2. Please submit all the following documents as attachments together with the online application.

    • ACRA business profile of the hotel (if applicable)

    • Copy of the advertisement according to the Notice template in PDF format. The electronic notice ("e-notice") will typically be published on the HLB website within 3 working days from the date in which the e-notice is submitted with complete information to the Board, for a period of 14 calendar days.

Approval Process

  1. Any notice of objection lodged with HLB within 14 calendar days of the advertisement will be taken into account in the assessment of the application for a Certificate of Registration.

  2. You will be informed via e-mail if your application has been successfully processed. Payment is required to receive approval for your application and obtain your Certificate of Registration. The Hotel-Keeper's Licence will be re-issued as it bears the hotel name.

  3. Please note that with effect from 1 January 2025, it is not a requirement under the Hotels Licensing Regulations for hotels to display the Certificate and Licence.

  4. The Hotels Licensing Board reserves the right to prescribe additional conditions or waive existing conditions for any application for a Certificate of Registration and/or a Hotel-keeper's Licence.
